A pioneering sportsman and legendary batter, British cricketer, WG Grace, is famed for developing the batting techniques which have been used in the game ever since. A practising doctor when he wasn’t playing cricket, Grace also took part in athletics competitions and was renowned for his muscular build that gave him the strength and power required of him on the cricket pitch. After scoring 32 runs against the All-England Eleven at just fifteen years of age and a 176 for the South Wales Club, Grace was picked for his inaugural First-Class cricket game in 1865. In 1873
